Givingtide International
The Capacity to End
Extreme Poverty Exists.
The Standard Does Not.
Givingtide proposes what the philanthropic world has never had: a universal, proportional, accountable standard. One percent. Three disciplined channels. Every institution that shapes the world’s economic life. As standard.
The Global Reality
Unprecedented
Wealth. Unacceptable
Poverty.
For the first time in history, the aggregate resources of the world’s nations, corporations, and foundations are sufficient to end extreme poverty within a generation. The coordinating framework now exists.
Givingtide provides the architecture: a proportional standard transforming fragmented generosity into systemic advancement.
The Scale of the Gap
People in Extreme Poverty
Living on less than $2.15 per day—a condition the world holds sufficient resources to resolve.
Global Private Institutional Wealth
A resource base without historical precedent, capable of structurally ending poverty when directed proportionally.
Average Institutional Giving Rate
The gap is structural. A universal proportional standard of one percent resolves this deficit.
Behind this commitment is a unifying philosophical framework.
Understand the Global MessagesA Principal Pillar
The 1—1—1
Framework
The one percent commitment flows through three coordinated channels, addressing distinct dimensions of global need. Together they constitute a complete institutional giving posture.
The Operational Channels
Core Equity Giving (CEG)
At least one percent of primary resources directed annually to the world’s poorest ten percent. This single one percent is the core of the discipline.
Learn more →Cross-Continental Giving (CCG)
A dimension of that same one percent, directed beyond the home continent to close the distance between highest wealth and deepest need.
Learn more →The Universal Project (U.P.)
The shared annual institutional focus through which Givingtide directs its global giving energy. The 2026 Universal Project is the Institute of Preemptology (IoP)—a proposed institution to establish prevention as a disciplined clinical responsibility.
Learn more →The Proportional Threshold
Nations
Every sovereign institution directing its commitment as a structural obligation of governance and shared global responsibility.
Corporations
Every incorporated entity making the structural end of poverty a permanent feature of its institutional presence.
Foundations
Every philanthropic entity adopting the framework as the coordinated basis of its global giving.
The Tide Defined
When the one percent threshold is enacted across these channels, the baseline of global poverty is systematically lifted. This coordinated influx produces a measurable reversal of historical economic imbalance. This structural elevation is the tide Givingtide names.

Givingtide
Moments
Moments provide the calendar architecture coordinating institutional commitments. Three distinct markers give the year its rhythm and provide a shared stage for leadership.
Givingtide Day
The annual ceremonial renewal of the movement. Observed at the opening of the year, it is the point at which nations, corporations, and foundations publicly affirm their commitment to the universal standard of disciplined generosity.
GoodTuesday
The recurring weekly rhythm of generosity. Each class of institution aligns its engagement with a Tuesday of significance, establishing a continuous global cadence of giving.
The tide becomes visible, shared, and repeatable.
Global GoodTuesday
The annual convergence of the weekly rhythm. On the first Tuesday of December, the entire global coalition steps forward simultaneously to amplify the signal of organised generosity.

Headquarters
At Givingtide International, location operates as a core institutional principle.
The headquarters structure distributes presence across the global landscape, aligning policy and operations with areas of greatest need.
The Full Structure →The language of disciplined giving
GIVA: The Give 1% Alliance
GIVA gives Givingtide a shared language for disciplined generosity: Give, 1, %, Alliance.
GIVA means Give 1% Alliance—the disciplined one percent framework through which Givingtide organises proportional generosity.
A GIVA is a registered member: an institution or chartered individual that has signed on to Givingtide’s 1-1-1 framework. At city level, GIVA [City] and Givingtide [City] are recognised public styles of the same local Chapter, while the GIVA is the worldwide fellowship of all GIVAs.
Through GIVA, the one percent standard becomes a shared practice of disciplined, proportional generosity.
The Invitation
History Is Being
Written Now.
The global capacity to end extreme poverty is established. The necessary structural architecture is fully functional.
The Givingtide standard provides the exact framework for this civilisational shift. The founding record of institutional participation is open. Your institution belongs on it.
