You are the generation that will decide whether fairness becomes normal on this planet. Givingtide is your chance to lead the world toward shared prosperity, starting right where you are, with the courage to believe that even the smallest act of justice can ripple across continents.

7 Levels of Global Equity Giving - GivingTide International

How Youth Can Join the Tide

Givingtide is a simple global idea:

Institutions and extraordinary individuals commit at least 1% of what they earn each year to uplift the people who have almost nothing. All Givingtide principles grow from this single, fair, measurable commitment.

The Three Ideas Behind the 1%

How It Works: The 1-1-1 Framework

It sounds big, but the math is simple. It all comes out of the same 1%.

1. Equity Giving — The Volume

The Rule:“For every hundred coins we earn, one coin belongs to those in deepest need.”

The Goal: To end extreme poverty in our lifetime.

2. Cross-Continental Giving — The Direction (Bridge)

The Rule: At least some of that 1% must go to a continent different from your own.

The Goal: To break down borders. We don’t just give “down” to the poor; we give “across” to our neighbors because generosity should cross borders the way sunlight crosses oceans.

3. United Giving — The Focus

The Rule: Once a year, you can choose to support a shared global mission.

The 2026 Mission: The Institute of Preemptology, training 10,000 new doctors to stop diseases before they start. This single innovation could save 60 million lives in five years.

Important: All three principles come from one single 1% pot. No extra percentage. No hidden demands. Just a smarter, fairer way to use the same 1%.

GoodTuesday — Your Weekly Rhythm of Goodness

Givingtide is not only a global day; it is a habit of the heart. Every Tuesday is GoodTuesday, a weekly invitation to do “double good”:

  • Good for someone else, through generosity, kindness, or advocacy
  • Good for you, as you grow in empathy, courage, and leadership

Young changemakers can use GoodTuesday to:

  • Perform one intentional act of giving or kindness
  • Share a story, video, or message about the 1% idea
  • Help host small events supporting the Universal Project
  • Build awareness campaigns in their schools, clubs, or communities

And once each year, on the first Tuesday of December, the world celebrates Global GoodTuesday, a global launchpad for the next Universal Project.

There are four clear pathways, depending on your interest, passion, and ability to contribute:

Level 1 — Philadvocate (Everyone)

Spread the message.
Talk about the 1% idea in your schools, clubs, and online spaces.

Level 2 — Organizer: Mark the Calendar (Givingtide Day, January 11)

On January 11 (1/11), we don’t march. We pause.

At 1:11 PM local time, wherever you are—in class, at practice, or gaming—we stop for 3 Minutes.

  • Minute 1: To remember those we lost to poverty.
  • Minute 2: To stand with those fighting to survive.
  • Minute 3: To resolve to turn the tide.

No central stage. Just billions of people silencing the noise to tune into humanity.

Level 3 — Global Builder

Support, promote, or help raise awareness for the Universal Project each year.

Level 4 — Chartered Philanthroteen (Rare & Honoured)

A formal category for young people whose personal giving looks like that of an institution.

Givingtide is aligned mainly with nations, foundations, corporations, and large organizations—but a small number of teens display such extraordinary generosity, influence, and ethical leadership that they qualify as Honorary Institutions.

To be considered for Chartered Status, a youth must:

  • ethically earn at least $100,000 in net annual income
  • give at least 10% of that income beyond their immediate family
  • demonstrate a life shaped by ethics, equity, and empathy

Such rare changemakers may apply or be nominated for recognition as Chartered Philanthroteens.

Upon approval, they may sign the Tide in their own name, receive a formal charter, and be listed publicly as Honorary Institutions, unless anonymity is preferred.

This recognition honours their generosity and multiplies their ability to inspire thousands of others.

Your Generation’s Call

Your voice, your choices, and your courage can bend history. When young people rise for justice, the world listens and the world changes. You do not need permission to lead. You only need the conviction to begin.

Join the Tide.
Lead the future.
Make fairness normal.

If you are under 20 and have ethically earned over $100,000 this year, you can apply to become a Chartered Philanthroteen.

The Challenge: Give at least 1% of your earnings to systemic global change.

The Recognition: You will be recognized as an Honorary Institution, signing the Givingtide treaty right alongside nations and major foundations.
